WORKING ACROSS UGANDA|KENYA|RWANDA|BURUNDI|TANZANIA|DR CONGO
Watchmen International is a UK-registered Christian charity operating predominantly in Africa.
Working across the Christian denominations, we are engaging in Christian discipleship and training, nursery education and a clean water project, both in urban and rural locations.
The Bible clearly teaches that sanctification is a process of radical heart change, following an initial commitment to Jesus Christ, a change which is required by us all if we are to demonstrate a truly transformed lifestyle. This is the foundation stone of the Watchmen message and ministry in Africa . Over a period of time and through teaching this message of transformed hearts leading to transformed lives, we have seen a real change in the marriages, family life and ministries of many Christians.
This process of change is taught using the 3 steps of: repentance – turning away from all iniquity and sin in our lives; renewal – having our minds spiritually renewed by understanding what Christ has done for us and who we are in Him; and resistance – daily standing firm, with the help and power of the Holy Spirit, in the new-found victory and freedom we have in Christ. We have discovered that it is only by first dealing with the issues of the human heart that other issues will fall into place, be they domestic, social, political or economic.
Preparing God’s People for the Return of Jesus
The need for changed hearts leading to changed lives dovetails into the Biblical teaching on preparing for the second coming of Jesus, which is also at the heart of our teaching in Watchmen International. We believe that we are living in very testing times, days that are clearly predicted in the Bible as preceding the return of Jesus Christ to this earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. The New Testament strongly exhorts all followers of Jesus Christ, not only to be looking out for this momentous event, but also to be preparing in the sense of living pure and holy lives, free from all iniquity and sin. According to the New Testament teaching, only those who are actively engaged in preparing for Jesus’ coming will be ready for His return.
